This is Beppe Severgnini, an Italian journalist, and in spite of what you might think from this picture, he’s actually a very clever guy.
Beppe has always narrated Italian things from external perspectives, corresponding for Italian newspapers from all over the world, and writing books to help foreigners understand why on earth a thug like Berlusconi is still ruling our country.
His latest work, “Mamma mia!”, was released by Rizzoli just a few days ago. I am going to get a copy of it asap, and I’m also going to greet him at Pizza Roma in the Village on November 5, where he’ll be presenting the book between a slice of Margherita and a calzone — SWEET PAPERY AND CHEESY JESUS*! Books and food! <3
Watch Severgnini discussing his book on WGBH here.
I saw in Washington, DC on the 7th – he was incredible! Haven’t started “Mamma Mia!” yet, but I am VERY excited to dive in. Also – what a great photo of him you’ve posted here – haha.
He is so much fun! Thanks for visiting!
